JOINING OUR CLUB
Thank you for your interest in finding out about the Gympie Gold Fins Swimming Club and/or Gympie Gold Fins Masters Swimming. We hope that the following information answers your questions.
GYMPIE GOLD FINS SWIMMING CLUB
GYMPIE GOLD FINS SWIMMING CLUB
We are registered with Swimming Australia, Swimming Queensland and the Wide Bay Swimming Association.
Club membership is for a period of 12 month, commencing on the 1st of July each year. The annual membership fee is due when signing on for the season and covers insurance and registration affiliation with Swimming Australia, Swimming Queensland, Wide Bay Swimming Association and Gympie Gold Fins Swimming Club.
New members have a “come and try” grace period of 2 consecutive weeks. This means you may compete at club nights, but are not eligible to nominate for other swimming meets.
As a returning/renewing member, you are not covered by our insurance, able to compete at club nights or able to nominate at swimming meets until your membership is paid.
Swimmers may transfer from one club to another during the season. To transfer, purchase the new membership in full for the swimmer, then from that swimmer’s profile select the old membership and use the “transfer’ button to transfer; this process will automatically refund the amounts from the old membership that are the same as the new membership (e.g. the Swimming Australia component).
Please note, this transfer process is only required for mid-season transfers. Any end/start of season changes of club are handled by simply purchasing the new club’s membership product.
Every member is required to complete their membership on line through Swim Central.
As part of our Duty of Care, we require each member to complete a Medical Form that is available as a download document in the Documents and Forms section of the website or by requesting a hardcopy from the registrar.
It is a club requirement that all swimmers under the age of 18, registered as club members, have at least one parent/guardian registered as a Parent Member. (Parent Memberships are free.)
SWIMMER CATEGORIES
There are various different membership types available, so that you can be involved in your local swimming club the way you want. Please note the criteria for each membership type as indicated below, when determining the applicable Gympie Gold Fins membership fee.
*Please note, that if after a period of time a swimmer wants to start competing in a different category, (eg Youth Swimmer to National Swimmer, or Recreational Swimmer to another category) they MUST upgrade their membership type. Please speak to the registrar about the process.
