Club Night

CLUB NIGHT PROCEDURES

Club Nights commence at 6.00pm each Friday night, with presentations and information for the swimmers and pool set up for parents.

Racing commences at 6.15pm.

There will be four club nights held on Thursday night (instead of Friday) during the season to assist swimmers and their parent(s) travelling to meets that start on Friday night.

Thursday 11th October  2018  Sign on and the Hervey Bay meet (meet starts on Friday night.)
Thursday 22nd November 2018  City of Charm meet, Bundaberg (meet starts on Friday night.)
Thursday 14th February 2019  Qld State Sprints - Brisbane Aquatic Centre. (meet starts on Friday night.)
Thursday 15th March 2019  Wide Bay Swimming Championships, Bundaberg. (meet starts on Friday night.)

Nominations close on Thursday Afternoon at 5.00pm.

Club and Pool Record attempts – Swimmers wanting to attempt a record must notify the Club Night Coordinator so 3 time keepers can be allotted to your lane.

If you are late nominating you will be entered as an exhibition competitor and points will awarded accordingly.

To avoid losing points, please notify the Club Night Coordinator by 6.00pm, on club night, if you intend to scratch.

Swimmers must check the race sheets (on Notice Board) and advise of any mistakes. These will be checked against the nomination card and adjustments made if a mistake occurred. After 6.00pm all entries stand and no further changes will be made.

Swimmers must mark their own nomination card.  A maximum of five (5) races may be swum.

Failure to nominate = NO SWIM (if however, there is a vacant lane, a swimmer may swim with no points being awarded).

Failure to compete in nominated races = -2 points per race.

The races nominated for must be swum, no changes will be allowed.

All members who meet the qualifying times and participation requirements are eligible to nominate for OPEN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Events swum for OPEN club championships will be counted as one (1) or two (2) of your club night events to make up the five (5) allowable. Club night points will be awarded for these events.

Club Night Points WILL NOT be awarded for AGE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Only championship points of 5, 3 and 1 will be awarded for each age event.

Swimming Queensland Meet Rules will be enforced during the season. This means you may be disqualified. There will be no disqualification for 25m events. Starting procedures will be strictly enforced.

No child or swimmer is allowed to control the stopwatches on club nights or at meets unless requested and he/she is over 14 years of age.

If you fail to follow requested directions, especially in the marshalling area, you will be stood down from your next race.

The club is currently investigating using the My Lane online registration process for club nigh nominations.
